Dentro de los agentes de control biológico de plagas, los nemátodos parásitos de insectos consti­tuyen un grupo relativamente nuevo, sobre el cual no existe mucha información con relación a su uso en niveles comerciales. Es idispensable conocer las posibilidades que ofrece en nuestro medio forestal colombiano el nemátodo Neoaplectana carpocap­sae Weiser en el control del Oxydia trychiata (Gue­née) (Lepidoptera: Geometridae).
