First report and description of Phyllophaga obsoleta Blanchard (Coleoptera: Scarabaeoidea, Melolonthidae) in Colombia

In this article, we describe and illustrate the adult, third instar larva, and pupa of Phyllophaga obsoleta, an important insect pest species in Colombia. Morphology of diagnostic characters is analyzed, based on material collected in agricultural ecosystems of the Eastern region of the Department of Antioquia, Colombia. Some aspects of agricultural importance and geographic distribution of the species are commented upon, it beíng at the same time, its first official report in Colombia.
