In areas with a well defined dry season in Panama, the species Peregrinus maidis (Ashmead) (Homoptera: Delphacidae) has its maximum flight period from August to December, even in areas where corn is absent. In the absence of a dry season the species files throughout the year. The species was almost absent in areas with an altitude of over 1000 m.a.s.l.
