Abstract

We discuss the four species of Atta leaf-cutter ants which occur in Colombia, including A. cephalotes ( Linnaeus), A. colombica Guérin, A. laeviga­ta (F. Smith), and A. sexdens (Linnaeus). We present keys for the soldiers, workers (me­dium and smaller), females, and males. Distribution maps are included for each of the species.
